  4. Easy Halloween makeup ideas to try this year
Throughout the year, we usually have grand plans to go wild with our costumes and makeup for Halloween. But as it comes closer to the date, we don’t always have time to spend days (or weeks) preparing!

An easy and effective way to pull together something last minute is to focus on your makeup. And, you don’t need to be a makeup artist to pull off something brilliant.

Whether you want to go glam or ghoul, here are some fun and simple ideas to make you stand out this Halloween!

GLAM ALIEN
All you need are a few simple items to complete this glam alien look. Draw lines with a waterproof black eye pencil as desired on your forehead. Draw blue (or your chosen colour) eyeshadow lines a little thicker directly next to the eyeliner. Next, use an eyeshadow brush or cotton tip to blend the black towards the colour. Finally, apply stick on jewels and lipstick to match.

HALF GLAM, HALF GHOUL
So simple but effective, you can even just focus on your mouth for this look. All you have to do is apply glam makeup as normal to one half of your face (doing both eyes). Next, use your concealer to blot out any of your natural lip tone on the ghoul side. Take a waterproof black eye pencil and line your inner lips, leading to a line across to your ear. Add ‘stitch’ marks and blend with an eyeshadow brush or cotton tip.

EYEBROW FEATHERS
We love this look for a more glam (rather than Big Bird) look! Add some crazy false lashes and using the same lash glue, glue feathers of your choice across your brows.

DAY OF THE DEAD SKELETON
We love the ornate Day of the Dead faces that come out at Halloween. The good news is you can be as detailed, or not, as you like! Simply paint your face white, circle both eyes and fill with black or any colour you like. Draw on ornate details across your face and a skeleton nose and you’re done! If you’d like to be a little more fancy, you can place stick-on jewels around your eye markings.

BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY
You don’t have to be a professional face painter to do this. For a butterfly, trace the lines first, then fill with your favourite colours. As a last step we like to retrace the outline to make it more bold and highlight with little white dots or flourishes.

SIMPLE SPIDERWEB
For the kids who don’t want to go overboard, what could be simpler than a spiderweb? Simply draw on with a waterproof pencil liner and add a few clear stick on jewels as water droplets on the web.

Happy Halloween!
