Chocolate chip cookies are always a good go to, but if you want to get creative this year and make something a little bit more decadent for Dad then try this tender shortbread cookie covered with caramel and coconut, drizzled with chocolate. There is nothing out there like the Samoa, don't take our word for it...try it with dad!

Here are the ingredients (don’t worry, all recipe ingredients can be found now at Newcastle's Charlestown Square).
Ingredients (makes 2 dozen):
3/4 cup & 2 tablespoon of flour
1 teaspoon corn-starch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup of vegetable shortening
1/4 cup of sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 tablespoon of milk, use as needed
3/4 cups toasted desiccated coconut, divided
2 1/2 tablespoons of milk
A pinch salt
