In many cultures mushrooms are considered a symbol of luck, to find a mushroom means that good luck is at hand. This Spring Shrooms have popped up in the South Piazza!
Shrooms is an immersive artwork of 7 giant inflatable mushroom shapes that encourages our social nature while contrasting with the urban environment.
Created by Sydney based artist Amigo & Amigo, Shrooms was inspired by little mushrooms that would pop up in the industrial areas of Sydney's inner city. When designing Shrooms they decided to use bold contrasting coloured fabrics to not only engaged with visitors and be illuminated at night but also offer a colorful spectacle during the day. Amigo & Amigo love hijacking public spaces, and embedding them with colour, nature and play.
Make sure you check out the Shrooms Forest and dine in at South Piazza this Spring.
